Dr. Andrews started her academic career by serving as a founding faculty for the University of Texas at El Paso School of Pharmacy (UTEP). During this time Dr. Andrews developed and delivered several courses including pharmacy calculations, application labs, communication, practice management and therapeutics. She also held an adjunct appointment with UT Austin College of Pharmacy and Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. She served as Teaching Certificate Coordinator and preceptor for primary care and practice management rotations for pharmacy residents. Dr. Andrews brings with her significant teaching experience that she gained during her teaching rotation, residency training and serving as faculty at different institutions. She has been the recipient of teaching awards including the “AACP Teacher of the Year.” Dr. Andrews states “What I love about my profession of being an academician and a pharmacist is that I am able to provide didactic education to my students in a classroom setting, and as a pharmacist I am able to see my students apply the same knowledge in a clinical setting. As a faculty member at LECOM School of Pharmacy my hope for the students is to inspire and prepare them to be life-long learners so they continue to extend their growth and development to inspire the next generation of pharmacists. I hope to have an impact on their continuing professional education where they utilize evidence-based learning and clinical guidelines to impact patient care outcomes.
