Biography
Marvin Hendon, Ph.D., MSCP is the Director of Behavioral Health for the LECOM Bradenton Campus. He has been active in Private Practice for 35 years. Specialty areas of practice include working with individuals who have comorbid medical disorders. He serves as Behavioral Medicine Consultant Liaison to three area hospitals and as Behavioral Medicine consult to a level two trauma Center. He has served as past Board member to the local chapter of the Sickle Cell Foundation. Additional Board appointments have included the American Heart Association local Chapter (1993) and as an advisory Board Member to the Sarasota Palms Partial Hospitalization Program (1991)
His research experience covers a spectrum from conducting laboratory studies on the effects of L-Dopa on the Treatment of Parkinson’s Disease to the design and organization of data for evaluative research on the emotional responses of terminally ill patients. He is a member of the American Psychological Association as well as the Florida Psychological Association. In addition to a Ph.D in Psychology from the University of Florida He holds an advanced post doctorate Masters Degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology.
