Research Interests

Dr. Fulton is exploring connections between Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and connective tissue disorders, especially the Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) disorders, using community-sourced subjective data. Aspects include the further characterization of MCAS-EDS by symptomatic association with functional disorders such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Dr. Fulton is clarifying common socio-economic determinants and environmental exposures amongst MCAS-EDS sufferers, compared against unique phenotypic expressions of humoral and innate immune factors. Dr. Fulton is concomitantly characterizing the benefits of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine as applied to MCAS-EDS as an efficacious, non-invasive, non-pharmacologic therapy modality.
